Station Frustration

Aberavon’s AM, David Rees has today expressed his frustration at the recent news from Network Rail that the new footbridge access and ticket office at Port Talbot Parkway will not be open to the public until mid-February. Following earlier delays, it was hoped that the work would be completed by Christmas 2015, but this will now not happen until early spring.

David Rees AM said “We have waited for many years for a modern, accessible railway station in Port Talbot and it is disappointing that we will have to continue to wait until February. I’m frustrated at the further delay in fully re-opening the station following the investment from the Welsh Government through its station improvement programme.”
