Minister confirms re-appointments to the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales

Minister for Housing and Local Government, Julie James, has today announced Sarah (Saz) Willey has been re-appointed as Member to the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales.

Originally appointed to the Panel in June 2016, Sarah (Saz) Willey will be re-appointed as a member of the panel for four years and three months from 1 January 2021.

The Panel is responsible for determining the level of remuneration for elected members of councils, national park authorities and fire and rescue authorities in Wales.

Members of the Independent Remuneration Panel for Wales are paid a daily rate of £282, reflecting a minimum time commitment of 12 days per year.

Minister for Housing and Local Government, Julie James said:

“I am pleased to announce this re-appointment today and that Saz has agreed to continue in her role on the Independent Remuneration Panel.”

 “The expertise and skills Saz has developed while undertaking this role will benefit the Panel as it continues its work”.
