David Rees AM supports the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for Macmillan Cancer Care

Macmillan coffee morning

On Wednesday 25th September, David Rees AM attended the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event at the Senedd in support of Macmillan Cancer Care, raising money to help cancer sufferers and their families across the UK.

Thousands of people across Wales have taken part in a coffee morning to help raise funds for Macmillan. Now in its 23rd year, the World’s Biggest Coffee morning raised £15m last year alone, while Macmillan spent over £3.2m in Wales, funding services including its community nurses. This year, the charity hopes to raise even more money, to help fund vital cancer services across the country.

David said: ‘In Wales, more than 18,000 people are diagnosed with cancer each year. I know that a considerable number of my constituents have personal experience of cancer, and Macmillan has been there to support many of those in need. I encourage others in both Aberavon and across Wales to get involved and host their own coffee morning in aid of Macmillan, to help make the charity’s fund-raiser the most successful ever. It’s a great idea because it brings people together over tea, coffee and cake, and every penny raised will help people with cancer.’
