David Rees AM shows his support for Adult Learners Week.

The weeklong celebration of the importance of lifelong learning encourages people across Wales to take up learning opportunities. Education providers will be putting on events across Wales, including an event in the National Assembly. A host of private and public organisations will be promoting free taster events, local outreach activities and short courses.

The week runs between the 13th and 19th of June, with activities taking place around Aberavon.

Each year, over 20,000 adults in Wales participate in Adult Learners’ Week activities.

David Rees AM said “I am delighted to be able to show my support for Adult Learners Week.

“Many adults take part in learning in order to help them access work or to progress in their career. Having access to a range of high quality learning opportunities both in and outside of the workplace is vitally important for creating a society in which all adults can benefit from learning at every stage of their lives”

“Ault learning is also of huge importance to the Welsh economy and enables Wales to compete successfully with other high skill economies.”
