David Rees, AM for Aberavon, has congratulated Menter Iaith Castell Nedd Port Talbot, a community-based organisation working to promote and support the use of Welsh and part of the broader Menter Iaith scheme, on winning grant funding from the Big Lottery Fund this year.
Menter Iaith Castell Nedd Port Talbot will use the money to purchase new IT equipment in order to engage the local community in developing their IT skills and to increase the capacity of local groups to market and promote their activities. The grant, worth £4996, will fund five all-in-one touchscreen computers, four tablet computers, four microphones, a dongle, four tripods, a printer, a green screen and lighting.
David said: “I congratulate Menter Iaith Castell Nedd Port Talbot on winning this grant funding. The money will be put to good use improving the IT skills of the local community and will make a significant difference in improving the online capacity of local groups, which is so important in the modern age.”
Part of the National Lottery, every year the Big Lottery Fund distribute millions of pounds to local community groups and charitable projects around the UK and are responsible for distributing 40% of all the money raised for good causes by the National Lottery.
