[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]David Rees local Assembly Member for Aberavon is encouraging residents to be recycling aware and help to increase already impressive recycling rates, in Neath Port Talbot. Mr Rees is supporting the aims of last week’s Recycle Week campaign, which is about encouraging residents to recycle as much waste as possible.
David Rees is delighted with continued improvements in local recycling figures. The latest stats show that Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council is recycling 58% which is up from 44% in 2011. Recycling figures continue to improve across Wales and Wales recycles more than any other nation in the UK.
Now in its 13th year Recycle Week is a celebration of recycling, with this year’s theme being ‘The Unusual Suspects’. The aim of recycle week is to encourage people to think about all those items that often get forgotten about when recycling at home.
Recycling the waste we produce is one of the best things residents can do to improve the environment. Last week’s Recycle Week campaign encourages people to recycle more by:
Highlighting the unusual items that often get forgotten about when recycling around the home
Showing the benefits that come from recycling
Motivating them to do more
Demonstrating how to be an effective recycler
